The Associate Provost for Academic Affairs provides guidance for the development and maintenance of curriculum and leads a coordinated set of academic services that support academic programs and student success.
Reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Supervises four direct reports including a secretary, Director of Advisement and Transition, Director of Institutional Research and Assessment, and the Registrar.
The Advisement and Transition Office coordinates academic advising, orientation, COR 101: The Cortland Experience transition seminar, transfer credit services, programs for transfer, adult, and undecided students, and learning communities.
The Institutional Research and Assessment Office coordinates institutional external reporting to SUNY system and a range of external constituents, assessment of programs, service departments, and initiatives, benchmarking of institutional markers including retention, faculty workload, etc., general education assessment, providing data on an ad hoc basis to inform campus planning.
The Registrar's Office coordinates maintenance and integrity of all academic records, verification of enrollment status, execution of operational procedures as prescribed by established college policy, department course scheduling, registration, degree verification, degree audit program, new student block registration, utilization of Banner systems for academics, and FERPA accountability.
Required Qualifications -Earned doctorate -A record of administrative curricular innovation and effectiveness in academic affairs at the postsecondary level -Administrative experience in curriculum management and enrollment management -Understanding of institutional research and assessment and advisement and retention issues -Demonstrated ability to coordinate multifaceted services and lead collaborative initiatives -Instructional experience -Strong understanding of curriculum -Proficiency in utilizing institutional, regional, and national data to inform decision making and planning. Excellent communication skills -Cooperative and collegial manner -Budget management experience -Supervisory experience -Proficiency with educational technology applications such as E-Learning platforms and enrollment management tools.
