Job Details Lee College invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President of Learning. The Vice President will report to the President and provide leadership in all aspects of community college instruction and program development and will lead academic operations and be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of the learning environment.

Lee College, with many well-established technical programs, strong connections to the business and industrial sectors, and high quality transfer programs as evidenced by student success upon transfer, continuously seeks new opportunities to serve. We are a vibrant, continuously evolving, mid-sized institution serving an industrial community. The college is located in Baytown, Texas, approximately 30 miles east of Houston. The third largest city in the Houston metropolitan area, Baytown has a diverse population of more than 60,000. It is a prosperous community that offers a competitve cost of living, a variety of employment opportunities, and a strong tax base provided by corporations such as ExxonMobil, Chevron Phillips, and Bayer.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Master's degree from an accredited institution

•Five (5) years teaching experience at post-secondary institutions

•Administrative experience and successful academic leadership at the post-secondary level

•Experience with institution accreditation

•Proven excellent interpersonal communication skills

•Demonstrated excellent management, conceptual, and analytical skills

•Understand the mission of the comprehensive community college


Preferred Qualifications:

•Doctorate degree from an accredited institution

•Understand the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of students at the community college in a working-class community

•Experience working with workforce and continuing education programs, including working collaboratively with business and industry partners to meet the training needs of the area

•Experience working with transfer-track students

•Experience working with educational partners (K-12, transfer institutions, and other community colleges)

•Success with implementing and sustaining strategies to enhance and advance student learning

•Leadership experience in fiscal management and strategic planning

•Understand and appreciation the value of cooperative decision making

•Commitment to the effective use of technology in a learning environment

•Evidence of community engagement
