Job Details Responsibilities:
Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Plan, evaluate and exercise responsibility for academic and student affairs programs, policies and standards.

Advise the President on all academic and student affairs and serve as the Chief Executive Officer in her absence.

Supervise the Deans and academic and student affairs support program directors.

Plan for, recommend, and monitor utilization of financial resources for faculty, academic administration and support personnel, and student affairs administration and support.

Minimum Qualifications:
Earned doctorate from an accredited institution.

Minimum five (5) years of significant administrative experience at the level of dean or above to include:

Proven record of academic and executive leadership based in shared governance, partnerships and collaborative decision making.

Understanding of, and the ability to provide, leadership to the intellectual life of a comprehensive University.

Knowledge of trends and issues in higher education with an understanding and commitment to the teaching, research, and service missions of the University.

Evidence of successful collaborative leadership with academic and student affairs.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment and to lead, prioritize, manage, and implement change.

Demonstrated record of successful teaching, scholarship, creative or research activity, and service, consistent for an appointment at the rank of professor.

Successful team builder with ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships that include diplomatic, analytical, and decision-making processes.

Highly effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Executive competence in strategic planning, resource management and the development of institutional funding priorities.

Commitment to diversity as well as a demonstrated ability to work successfully with persons of diverse backgrounds including sensitivity to their needs and concerns.

Commitment and capacity for working effectively within a collective bargaining environment.Knowledge of technology and how it impacts teaching and learning.

Evidence of the ability to take the necessary steps to insure the quality of the University.


Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of working effectively and collaboratively with external constituencies to establish strong, lasting and productive partnerships.

Evidence of ability to serve as a civically engaged ambassador who is a leader in promoting the University and its mission and values.

Successful experience with administering employment or collective bargaining agreements.
